Lives and Letters in Civil War Exhibit

The letters of Private John Tidd now published in Dear Friend Amelia (Six Mile Creek Press, 2011) will be on display at The History Center in Tompkins County from February 4th-July 2011.

Mary Jordan, Joyce Hatch, Ron Ostmun and Harry Littell compiled an extraordinary people’s history of the Civil War from these materials. The letters, tintypes, endearments and other artifacts associated with John Tidd and Amelia Haskell are worth seeing.

An opening reception for this exhibition of Civil War artifacts will be open to the public on February 4th, 2011, between 5 and 8 pm at The History Center.

This opening coincides with Ithaca’s First Friday Gallery Night. Hope to see you there!
